Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people ask us about renting moving bins in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts. Don't see your question? Get in touch — we're happy to help.
What areas do you serve in New Hampshire and Massachusetts?
We deliver and pick up free of charge throughout Hillsborough County, NH, Rockingham County, NH, and Middlesex County, MA. That includes Amherst, Bedford, Brookline, Londonderry, Manchester, Mont Vernon, Nashua, Newfields, Salem, Portsmouth, and Windham in New Hampshire, and Bedford, Chelmsford, Concord, Devens, Fitchburg, Hanscom AFB, Lexington, Lowell, Waltham, and Westford in Massachusetts. If you're just outside that area, call or email us — we'll often make it work for a small fee.
How big are the bins and how much do they hold?
Each bin measures 27 inches long by 17 inches wide by 12 inches high, giving you about 3.2 cubic feet of space — a little larger than a standard curbside recycling bin. An empty bin weighs 7 pounds and holds up to 60 pounds of belongings, though we recommend keeping it closer to 40 pounds for comfortable lifting.
How many bins will I need for my move?
Our packages are built around home size, so you don't have to guess. Tell us how many bedrooms you have and we'll recommend the right kit — including how many bins, how many dollies, and how much packing paper and how many labels come with it. Most people finish booking in under five minutes.
What comes with a rental besides the bins?
Every order includes dollies for moving stacked bins easily, recycled packing paper for fragile items, and label cards so you can mark which room each bin belongs in. You don't need packing tape — our lids are attached, so there's nothing to seal and nothing to lose.
How long can I keep the bins?
You choose one, two, three, or four weeks at checkout. About three weeks is the sweet spot for most customers — roughly one week before moving day and two weeks after, which gives you time to unpack without rushing. Need longer? Email us and we'll extend when the schedule allows.
Are the bins cleaned between customers?
Yes, every time. Returned bins are quarantined for three days and then sanitized top to bottom with an anti-viral disinfectant before they go out again. Nothing from a previous move comes along with your kit.
Are reusable bins really better than cardboard boxes?
For most moves, yes — and usually cheaper. Cardboard bottoms give out under heavy loads like books and dishes, and they weaken fast in New England rain and snow. Our bins are waterproof, they stack securely with interlocking attached lids, and they arrive ready to pack, so you skip hunting for boxes, taping them together, and breaking them down afterward. There's also nothing to haul to the curb when you're done.
Do I need to be home for delivery and pickup?
Someone 18 or older needs to be there to receive the delivery. We deliver to your front door, garage, or curbside on the ground floor — we don't carry bins up stairs or into walk-up apartments.
What are your hours?
We're open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. You can reach us at 603-276-4050 by call or text, or email nh-ma@rentgreenbin.com.
Can moving companies use these bins?
Absolutely, and it usually saves you money. We drop the bins off before your movers arrive so they can start loading immediately instead of billing you hourly to assemble cardboard boxes. Stackable bins also load faster onto a truck than mismatched boxes do.
Is Green Bin actually better for the environment?
Each bin is reused hundreds of times and then fully recycled at the end of its life, so it never becomes single-use waste. Cardboard often can't be recycled at all once it has tape, grease, or moisture on it. We also plant a tree with every single order through our partnership with One Tree Planted.
Where are the bins made?
In the United States. Our bins and dollies are manufactured in Oklahoma City rather than shipped in from overseas.
How do I book, and how do I pay?
Order online in a few minutes — pick your package, your rental length, and your delivery date. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover through our secure checkout. If you'd rather talk it through, call or text 603-276-4050.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Just email nh-ma@rentgreenbin.com with your order number. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before your delivery date receive a full refund. We'll always do our best to move your delivery or pickup date if plans change.
